The Presence Of God is a film centered around my early morning kayak excursions at Patten Pond in Ellsworth, ME. Paddling on the lake became an extremely magical time and became quite a religious experience for me. With the mist all around me, I was transported away from all the rest of the world. I became mesmerized by the hypnotic sights, sounds, and smells. I glided silently across the glassy smooth water barely making a ripple on the surface. I wound my way around majestic stands of reeds, across peaceful, tranquil lily pad fields, and among the rocks that jutted above the surface of the water. I gazed at the dancing wisps of mist rising from the surface of the water and then peered deeply into the crystal clear depths. How could I not be dramatically impacted by the staggering beauty of this place and time? How could my soul not be recharged and my spirit revitalized? How could my heart not be healed? How could I not have faith? How could I not feel the presence of God?
